The World’s Biggest Swing
As you might have gauged from my lack of interest in rollercoasters, water slides, and steep hills, I am not a thrill seeker. I honestly get a little nervous stepping onto those moving sidewalk things in airports. But I can still APPRECIATE a great idea, whether or not I would ever set foot on it.
Such is the case with the Nevis Swing – a ride in Queenstown, New Zealand which calls itself the largest swing in the world, and based on the camera footage, it. Looks. Awesome. With a 300-meter arc, a 70-meter free fall, and the ability to be used over cliffs and canyons, it’s no wonder these people look like they’re having the time of their lives. And the best part? You can ride it “with a mate, alone, upside down, forwards, backwards, truck and trailer, 69.” SIXTY-NINE? Now that’s my type of ride (no it’s not. I would never ride that death machine.).
